Big Banks

The big banks that I am posting here are for those looking at banking across the country with branches in at least 25 states. You may find that you can get a better deal or service with a local bank, regional bank, or credit union. My wife and I have had accounts at credit unions as well as banks. The important point is that you make sure that your financial institution will and does meet your banking needs.

Bank of America

Bank of America is the second largest bank in the United States and has branches in 36 States. They have a lot of accessibility options with 16,000 ATMs & 4,600 Branches scattered across the country. The name was changed to Bank America and Italy [translated] in 1922. When banking legislation changed in the 1950’s the bank was able to grow quickly. Bank America merged with Nations Bank in 1998 and then with Fleet Bank in 1999 to become the bank that is it today.
